LISTEN to a broadcast from GET YOUR GUTS IN GEAR

Post by LindaAukett UOAA Advocacy »

Posted on behalf of GET YOUR GUTS IN GEAR - the ride for IBD & ostomy awareness

Get Your Guts in Gear, Inc. is an organization that raises awareness of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and ostomy through multi-day cycling events that directly benefit the IBD patient community and other IBD charities. These 3-day events provide a unique venue for participants to feel empowered, accomplished, and part of a greater community.

The Texas Ride, in October of this year, provided the ultimate venue for Get Your Guts in Gear and the Patient Power broadcast to combine forces and produce two incredibly inspiring programs highlighting patients as they contemplated and successfully completed the Ride of their lives in Texas! Riders and crew members* joined Andrew Schorr and gastroenterologist Dr. Anthony Weiss to share their inspiring personal stories and their excitement at the end of the first day. You'll also hear updates from riders at the conclusion of the event - this perspective is truly unmatched. Learn about the accomplishments and success of this all-too-important ride, and how it's impacting the IBD community, research, and overall hope for patients.

We at Get Your Guts in Gear are proud to partner with Patient Power - America's most prominent regular series of live talk shows on medical and health issues from the patient's perspective and featuring some of the nation's most credible medical experts and inspiring patients.

Ultimately, we are most excited to share these experiences, conversations and expert medical commentary with you, the listener! We are convinced that the content of these programs go a long way in helping patients and caregivers within the IBD community feel empowered, accomplished and part of a greater community.

Huge thanks to Shire and to UCB, Inc. for making these webcasts possible.
