My Kock Pouch will be 28 years old in May of 2006 and so far so good. My last scope and biopsies were January 2001. I was told every other year. I was wondering how often you have your pouch scoped and x-rayed and biopsied. I had a polyp removed in 2001 and they did 8 biopsies, which all came back OK. I was just curious what other kock pouchers do.
After my surgery with Beahrs, I never saw a doctor again for 21 years in regards to my Kock. However, I did ask this question of Dr. Fazio at my follow up in february. I will be seeing him next February for a follow up and then I will learn how often to be seen.
My doctor was Dr. Beahrs also and I went from 1978 to 1979 to 2001 for my scopes. I have been very fortunate with my pouch, and thank God everyday for my success with the Kock Pouch. I was very sad to hear that Dr. Oliver Beahrs died, he was my doctor and he retired in 1979.
Jasmine,
I did not realized Dr. Beahrs passed away. I found some info on the web to see his passing in January. I also discovered he retired in 1979....same year as my first Kock...boy did I get lucky!
