Second Urinary Diversion- So far - So good

Post by sal50 »

:D

Hi All,

On 5/29/09- I had a Augmentation Cystoplasty with a Monti continent catheterizable stoma. In other words, I had my
bladder enlarged by adding a piece of small bowel and a catheterizable stoma made with small bowel.

So far it is working out well. Urge incontinence is greatly improved. And through my new stoma which is in the naval
is very easy to catheterize.

I am very pleased at this time, healing is taking some time because I also have a lot of pelvic wall adhesions.
Boy that will buy you more OR time! LOL!

This was a hard decision to make because, my first urinary diversion failed. I was very nervous and at the time was
not sure I had decided to do the right thing.

It was a TOTAL LEAP OF FAITH
and I am GLAD I went ahead with it and Tired! :D :D :D
