My son has a Mytrofanoff continent stoma and we recently learned of a product called a Stoma Stopper by Medicina. He had his surgery 6 months ago and just had to have a procedure to further open the stoma because it was getting tight. Unfortunately, we also understand that this device is not sold in the US due to lack of FDA approval. Has anyone in the US come across this challenge and/or found a solution?
Many thanks!

Hi I am sorry, but I don't know anything about these. Have you tried contacting an ET nurse in your area? I hope that you find your answers.

HI,
Are you looking for something that will help the Mitrofanoff stoma to remain open in between catheterizing? Im reading between the lines a bit but wanted to be sure before I ask around a bit.

Re: Stoma Stopper
I just saw my urologist for checkup & he prescribed ACE Stoma Device (Stoppers) for stomal stenosis. His ostomate nurse found them on internet. This is my order info. Marian Medical Inc. 3600 Chamberlain Lane, Suite 122, Louisville, Kentucky, 40241 Phone 502-425-6363. You need presciption, their FAX is 502-425-6543. I called them after they received the FAX & they took my credit card # & shipping address. I think is was $31 + 9.95 shipping. If you're already using them, please let me know your experience. Do they work? BV

Re: Stoma Stopper
My ACE stoma stopper came yesterday & I inserted it last night. Soft silicone comfortable for this stomach sleeper. Cathing easier in a.m. I'm optomistic that it will keep stoma open without more revision.
