Just want to find out more about living with ostomies

Hi, My name is April and I am a nursing student at the University of Florida.
I would love to gain more insight into what it is like to live with an ostomy.
I have questions about how it affects one's self-esteem, how aware one is about his/her ostomy, the impact it has on one's day and night plans, the influence of the ostomy on clothing choices, the influence of the ostomy on interactions with others, and finally how healthcare workers can be more helpful to patients with colostomies or in teaching others about them who do not know much.
