First colonoscopy 6 month post op iliostomy question
Hi everyone, my daughter just had her first colonoscopy as she is 6 months post op from what was supposed to be a temporary iliostomy. During the scope, several strictures and scar tissue was identified in the colon and she ended up getting a perforation. She was discharged after 2 days of IV antibiotics and doing well. The GI dr said that due to the scar tissue she will most likely not be able to be reversed. Anyone have information on this and any recommendations for possible alternatives to help lessen the scar tissue, strictures? Since she is already diverted, will the scar tissue build up pose an issue or only if she was reversed? Thanks in advance.
