Post-Reversal pain and bleeding

Post by ewbrown66 »

Hi all! This is my first post here as I did not see anything like it when I looked.
I started my chemo and radiation Sept 2016. The treatments caused an extremely painful anal fissure that was bypassed by having an early ileostomy in Oct 2016. My rectum was removed Jan2017. The fissure postponed my reversal until Oct 2017, when my fissure finally healed. After the reversal, I had the 'normal' pain and discomfort associated with this procedure. Several weeks post surgery, Nov 2017, I started bleeding anally and experiencing pain along my colon that felt to be a few inches past my anus. This pain and bleeding is intermittent and no always at the same time. I reported this to my surgeon and Gastroentologist. Neither seemed too concerned. I have another colonoscopy scheduled in a week and a half but my pain returned a couple of days ago and has advanced to the point that I am taking my oxycodone again. I have a call into both doctors again.
My question is whether or not anybody else has experienced this post-op pain and what treatments or procedures helped?
Thank you

Hello. Sorry you have not got any replies and I cannot answer your questions. Not so many people frequent this part of the board; feel free to repost in the general ostomy section. I hope that by now your doctors have gotten back to you. All the best,
