Help need information on diversion

My husband is in need of a urine diversion. His doctor wants to do the ileait conduit. He is worried about problems with bowels after having the diversion. Does this happen. Please help

Not really. He goes in Dec 14th His bladder was hit with radiation so does not work and is fused into other things. Dr is leaving bladder in. He has been incontinent for 5 years. Has has many infections and many stays in hospital after these infections. They are coming from the irritated bladder. Now strictures are cutting off flow of urine so no other choice left but diversion. Are their many infections after the diversion. What should I look for. He is 73 years old
