hey all I need help. I want to take peperment oil capsules. but all the good
ones are enteric coated liquid filled gel caps. I heard enteric coated
is no good for ilestomy people. but all peperment pills come this way
to pass the stomach and go directly into the small intestine. can I take
this I hear it's good. what's your thoughts. also I take a targeted release
30 billion probotic power filled capsule. this one the company says it goes
right to the small intestine after taking. you think this is safe to take. also why am I having extra high
output while taking probotics. when they
were giving me probotics in the hospital no
problems. think maybe 30 billion 15 different
strains is to strong.
why is no one helping me please

Re: why is no one helping me please
I'll help.
But my help is not of much help.
I've had my ileo 3 plus years.
I do not take anything extra for my bowels. Ileo. Whatever.
Never felt the need. If I want it to slow. Which I don't. I know what foods to eat that will slow it without pills.
As long as it's moving through on a regular basis I leave it be.
I find when it slows it blows wafers. It pancakes and pushes through the sides so I want mine liquid. Not thick.
Sorry..
Like I said. Not much help but what I do and I don't have any problems.
I don't take probiotics either.
Why do you want to take peppermint pills is really why I came here to answer?
I have a high output. But only because I drink and eat alot. And try to be merry. Lol.
Richard.

Hi:
I’m totally with Richard on this. The only peppermint I would suggest is a peppermint Altoid
to pop in the pouch for odor control. My feeling is less is better. Best of luck.

Peppermint was not recommended by two of my surgeons and my GI doctor. One surgeon performed a colostomy in 2002. I recently had that removed and received an ileostomy. I was told NOT to have any peppermint candies and if I took Gas-X (which sometimes I do) to avoid mint, especially peppermint and go with lemon or another flavor. Please read this: https://www.rxlist.com/consumer_pepperm ... ermint_oil
I do take probiotics and other supplements for my GI condition and they seem to have a good effect. With my ileostomy, I'm not thrilled with rapid release medication or supplements. I took Tylenol rapid release and the result was nausea. Definitely helps to eat when taking such pills but not sure I'd recommend them.
Are you hydrating? Water? Tea or maybe decaf coffee? Really important.
I wish you well.
