I have been using the coloplast mio for about 6 months now but it has become itchy on one side. It is not due to output as I do not have leaks. It seems to be half way fron the outside in, usually.
My question is has anyone else solved this problem. Also is that any quick drying moisturizers out their because when I clean my skin it is dry.

Re: Skin irritation
I'm not allergic to any products but my skin is sensitive. I've found that after wearing one kind of appliance for many months or even a year, I may have to change to another as my skin can have a reaction. I can't wear taped barriers and always go "tapeless" when ordering. I'd stuck with Convatec Durahesive barriers for a very long time after using Stomahesive ones with good luck, too. I also find that Stomahesive Strips under the barrier or faceplate provide reinforcement that helps a lot. I seem to have an itchy reaction to Eakin or other seals and to paste.
Recently, I switched to Coloplast's Sensura Mio Convex Flip as I was having some leakage issues. To my surprise, I'm finding this very skin-friendly whereas years ago, Coloplast's products didn't fare too well on my skin. I do like the high output pouches although I'm not a real fan of the high profile click and lock closure.
To reinforce the barrier after it's on (with the Stomahesive Strips underneath the barrier), I either use Convatec Ease Strips or Coloplast Brava Strips to "square off" the barrier. The Brava Strips CAN get itchy at times. For a while, I used pink HY tape -- but eventually that itched, too -- unless I took a break from it.
Years ago, when I had a colostomy, not an ileostomy, I used Cymed Microskin products. I've asked for samples from this company at least 5 times since November 2018. Emails indicated the products were on the way but nothing came. The barriers are VERY different. To apply, you need some agility but I found them very comfortable on my skin except once when I was at the beach in the sun -- the adverse effect could have occurred with any brand, I think. But, I've given up on getting Cymed products for now.
If things seem to get a bit dicey with my skin, I go back to using Stomahesive (or another) Powder and then applying a non-sting barrier spray but these days, I haven't needed to use them.
Sensitive skin and ostomy products can be a challenge so I wish you luck -- and suggest you give your skin a change for a while by using another tapeless product. After a while, you may be able to return to the original product you liked.
