Hollister CenterPointLock Discontinued

Post by mward57 »

Hi All,
New to this forum. I have worn the Hollister Center Point Lock wafers 3733 and pouches 3842 for over 25 years and was informed in 2018 that they have been discontinued. I am still able to find them through a charity OstoGroup and several discount suppliers. I have been sampling products from Hollister, Convatec, and Coloplast and they all irritate my skin (usually within 24 hours). The adhesive I believe is the culprit - the manufacturers have all developed longer wear adhesive, I get it, but are there any manufacturers that are addressing people that have super sensitive skin that can't wear the longer wear products? Has anyone in the group had the same experience trying to find products that don't irritate their skin to the point of serious wounds? I am starting to get desperate and my anxiety is on high! I belong to a Facebook group and see people posting all the time about this problem and we ostomates are so great with offering helpful suggestions. Asking for recommendations and support please and thank you!

Have you tried any of the Karaya based ones? They don't last as long but are definitely gentler on the skin.

I also have tricky skin. I can't use Convatec Durahesive but I can use their Stomahesive.

I also have been using Hollister's soft convex without skin issues.

Have you called ConvaTec directly & asked them about an alternative?

And re:Convatec - I'm the opposite of ileo73! My skin won't tolerated the Durahesive, but can use the Stomahesive. 35 years and counting!
