Hernia belt with lumbar support.
Have had colostomy since 2014 and have dealt with hernia for four years.Have been wearing NuHope and Safe and Simple hernia belts for several years - without cutout as I have prolapsing issues. Have been diagnosed with spinal myopathy and given the standard medicare back brace. It is very thick elastic with strong velcro bands. Way too tight and difficult to put on. Am concerned this belt is putting too much pressure on stoma, but do not want to put a hole in new belt. Am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and has any ideas for a combination belt.
Re: Hernia belt with lumbar support.
I use abdominal binders to support my hernia. They provide enough support without being restrictive to body movements. However, without a hole, when you have output, you need to tend to it pretty quickly as it will cause pancaking and possibly a leak. I irrigate, so output is typically not an issue for me. You can search abdominal binders on amazon and find a multitude of styles to fit what you need. Hope that helps.
