Waterproof swimwear

Post by steiconi »

This may be a teensy bit tangential, but maybe someone here has suggestions...
I have an open wound on my butt that drains something or other inside (hope I'm not being too technical for you). I'm not supposed to soak it, so no baths, hot tubs, or swimming. I love to swim!

It looks like I can get incontinence swim shorts, which promise to keep fecal matter in; are they effective at keeping water out, too?

I'm looking for Adult size, unisex or female style.

How about waterproof diaper covers? I don't want anything absorbent, and I don't want disposables.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi Lee: Have you tried the Parthenon company in Utah? Here's a link to some of their waterproof wound products. https://parthenoninc.com/wound-care/tra ... dressings/ Really nice folks to talk to & deal with. Knowledgeable. Good to see you posting. Not much action around here lately. Stay safe.

It has been much too quiet here. I'm trying to remember to check in more often in case some newbie is desperate for answers.

Thanks for the link, I've ordered from Parthenon before.

But I'm really looking for the swimwear; the wound is in an awkward spot.

I searched for "swim" on the Parthenon site; it asked me if I meant "ship," then showed me products that contained neither word. Search engines are getting weirder all the time.

You might try calling Parthenon & ask for Jason. He has supported UOAA over the years. Know what you mean about helping new members. Even if I have no real answer for them, I often just thank them for joining the Board. And it seems that someone always responds. So much dissension in the world. Any little kindness helps.
