If you have advice on this is appreciated? What to bring, how to handle leakages?
Thanks, Kaarina

I saw your previous posts about your mom's problems with leakage. If this is a continuing problem with several leaks a day, is a long flight really necessary?
I have taken many flights from NYC to Europe and Japan - some as long as 14 hours and never have had a problem. I change my equipment a day before my flight but for constant leakage there could be an issue....
So you just need to bring whatever she needs to change - do as little as possible and then re-do it when you arrive at your destination...
Hope that helps!!
Good luck!!

I've only had legs of three or four hours with my ileo but no problems. On the other hand, I've had this thing for more than half my life with (knock on wood or something) very few problems.

I'm echoing pretty much what Mara says on the need for a long flight right now??? Adding travel stress to an already stressful situation? If I were having lots of problems I'd be hiding in my house!

Best of luck, no matter what!

To minimize output, eat low residue foods before flight Eggs, meat, fish. Yogurt (with maple syrup!). No high fiber healthy stuff, forget the oatmeal.

I do well with one-or two eggs and a slice of white bread in the morning .
