Runny nose while irrigating

Every time I irrigate, I get a runny nose, and have to blow several times.

The rest of the time, I'm fine, almost never have to blow.

Any ideas on why?

Yes! I had noticed prior to my ostomy my nose ran while pooping, and it still does even when I irrigate. The body produces mucus when moving the bowels to lube them up. Some of us get the added joy of also having our noses run when our bowels move.
