The greatest advice I've received on this forum!

Post by Shamrock4806 »

1: Using a blow dryer to ensure the skin is very thoroughly dry before applying sealer. (Ring, paste etc)

2: Using a spray like Poo Pourrie in toilet before dumping contents of illeostmy bag.

3: Using a heating pad on top of a recently applied appliance to activate the binding elements.
.
4: Using a baking soda + water rinse and leave a bit more inside bag to act as an acid neutralizer to reduce the burning effects of small tiny leaks. Antacids (Tums better) for use on the road with water bottle rinse. Part my idea.

My many thanks to those who took the time to contribute this very helpful information, it's made a big difference in my quality of life issues with this new illeostmy. 😊

I'll add to this list as time progresses.

The best in-pouch odor control product I’ve found is M9 by Hollister. It may seem pricey but it totally eliminates odor and one bottle lasts me a couple of months.
