Edgepark, Medicare and Tricare 4 Life

Post by KarenS »

I recently turned 65 and have Medicare parts A and B along with TRICARE For Life. I've used Edgepark for many years. Today they called me to say I had to pay my $240 Medicare deductible before TRICARE For Life will pay and they ship my monthly supplies. I thought that TRICARE For Life would pay my medicare deductible. Any one have any experience or knowledge on this. Also, I live in middle TN and wonder what companies others use to get their supplies.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I don't know anything about Tricare but wouldn't they be able to answer your question....can you see what's in the information you received when you signed up for that policy?

Well if you need supplies right away, my suggestion is to use Medical Monks.

They don't accept any insurance likely because of the problems getting paid.

So they will do in a pinch until you get your Medicare and Edgepark back up and running again.

They can ship overnight if you need it.

I didn't like using Edgepark because they would just ship me partial orders because they run out of stock or just lazy and thus had to order from Medical Monks anyway or else ooze fecees all over the place.

Insurance companies like to take money in, but fight to pay it out. My new health insurance I haven't used in a year is calling me up keeping appointments etc because it's from the marketplace and they likely trying to get me to switch to another plan or kick me down to Medicaid. So my insurance company have been making $1800 a month off of me and I don't even use it. So they surely want to keep me as a customer. 😆

Hello,
I also have Medicare and Tricare for Life.
I used Edgepark when I had Blue Cross and never had problems. I retired and became a Medicare and Tricare for Life client.
Edgepark changed into a monster. They kept charging me and I got no or wrong supplies.
I was in tears for months as I talked to them 4 times a week trying to straighten things out. I never got my money back and they never got my supplies caught up.

Please check into HomeCare Delivered for your supplies
All my supplies are on time and they do not have my charge card number.
They are a pleasure and take our insurance.

They are all gettin to be a pain.
I have plenty of product expect I use simple Coloplast adhesive wipes remover.
To order them just by themselves is almost impossible.
They. The insurance makes me get bags and wafers to be able to get one box of adhesive remover wipes. Stupid.
I just got the bill. It was only $17 bucks.
But all I needed was the wipes.
So I'm low now and just bought a couple of boxes off ebay for $25.
Cheaper.
Insurance companies. Ugh.

I needed to order a new hole-cutter due to change in stoma size once and Byram had to create a new account so I could straight up order it without insurance involvement. Perhaps for the same reason IDK.

Not ostomy related but I think it is cheaper to get an annual plan from my dentist with certain inclusions and savings rather than bothering with my insurance which pays almost nothing.......

This is an older thread and Karen may be gone. But anyway, it sounds to me as though Tricare is secondary and Original Medicare is primary. And $240 sounds like it’s about the right about for the Original Medicare Part B annual deductible. So I would assume that Karen has to pay the Part B annual deductible before she can get any insurance benefits, including ostomy supplies.
