hernia
Hi, I have had my ileostomy for 11 years now and have been very lucky with not to many issues till now. I am having pain which I found out today is probably a hernia, I will make a consult with general surgeon for possible repair. Has anyone every had the repair done by robot or laparoscopic? My stoma is good and don't want any problems if I have to have surgery. I was hoping the colon surgeon would do it but no, have to go to general surgeon. Thanks for any input.
Re: hernia
I haven't had this but, I did have my colostomy done by robot. The healing process is a couple days faster. I was out in 3 days.
I may have a hernia too so, I'll listen in here too. Fortunately I don't think I have any pains, just a bulge around the stoma where I can feel intestines moving back and forth under below the muscle if I pressed it down/in or if I had been laying down. I've been wearing a hernia belt with hole for pouch.
