Oil Free Eyebrow Makeup Remover is usually available in just about any drug store or supermarket in the cosmetics isle. It's a liquid and not a spray, works extremely well. Better than ostomy company products in my opinion and the hold of adhesive/barrier is excellent afterwards with no running or sagging.
1: Shake bottle a few times to mix contents.
2: Unscrew cap and usually a protective film, don't remove it if possible, rather poke a small round hole in it to create a small stream when squeezed or dumped.
3: Squirt along top of wafer adhesive to work it underneath, then peel and squirt some more in the crack until wafer is removed.
4: Dru wipe output away from stoma with toilet paper, do not use water.
5: Scrape off any thick remaining residue (like paste or ring) using a flat plastic knife or something. Avoid injured skin which nothing should be sticking to it anyway.
6: Soak fresh toilet paper with the Eye Makeup Remover and hold against the remaining residue, rub around stoma under the wafer area also to let it soak in and repeat until skin is clear of adhesive residue. One may need to gently rub with something like a fingernail on non irritating skin to remove off adhesive.
7: Shower or wash the area with a gentle amount of regular soap (not moisturized!) and water to remove residue Eye Makeup Remover. Skin should feel squeaky clean when rubbed with fingers, actually squeaking. If hairy then dry shave some but not too close to the skin, perhaps use clippers instead because of ingrown hair irritation issue.
8: Towel dry, then blow dry the area and then dab with dry pieces of toilet paper to soak up any moisture on and around the stoma. Very dry and warmed skin is extremely important at this stage
9: Finger test area that skin under the wafer (peristomal skin especially) is absolutely dry to the touch and skin should squeak some too.
9.5 If wounds are weeping then apply a very fine layer of stoma powder just to the wound only, dry brush off any excess, and spray coat skin protectant and allow 30 seconds to dry. Repeat if still damp. A dry scab needs to be formed for adhesion to work (crusting method). Ensure skin is absolutely dry. Optional is to use spray skin protectant without any powder as it will defend the skin against leak burn a little longer than normally without it. But ensure it's very dry.
10: Slap ones pre-prepared in advance ostomy appliance on with barrier adhesive and press around stoma first to seal. Then steady pressure to get everything to bond to the skin. Finish up with whatever ostomy related supplies etc.

Re: How to use oil free eye makeup remover as an adhesive remover
Has been working great.
Another benefit is I've been using it to massage into my chest scar. Both under the wafer and exposed, then washing the whole area with mild soap and water.
Then after the wafer is on, running a skin lotion onto my exposed scar tissue, seems to keep it very well moisturized and soft to the touch No longer irritated as badly by clothes or bedding.

Re: How to use oil free eye makeup remover as an adhesive remover
An added note, if one uses a moisturizer soap under the wafer area it might not get all the oil free eye makeup remover off and may result in a not as good skin bond for the adhesives later.
Use a light amount of regular soap instead, rinse and check that the skin squeaks when ones finger is rubbing around the stoma, that's the clue it's completely clean.
Make sure shower run off like from other soaps, shampoos or conditioners don't touch the area under the wafer area or it can ruin the adhesion later. You can tell because the adhesive barrier will either leak underneath or come off clean while peeling off the wafer. There should be some sort of residue still stuck to the skin that requires scraping off. That's how you know your getting a good bond.

I've had absolutely minimal leaks since using this new method. Gong weeks at a time without having one. I no longer have any leak burns. I feel a slight itch and I know it's time for a bag change or just change it because it's feeling worn or extremely dirty from stains.
Definitely a game changer!

Awesome, Shamrock! Love the squeaky clean reference!
I've been battling the summer heat, on top of the everyday leaking issues. Add to that a hernia belt! Fortunately, I have been able to wear it longer despite the heat.
My latest success has been with my standard sarin-infused ring. Instead of installing it tightly next to the stoma, I have pulled it back, exposing a tiny bit of skin. I believe it adheres to the skin better without pulling water underneath. I will know soon, as I'm still wearing this experiment.

You going in the wrong direction. You need to keep output away from healthy skin as much as possible.
What happens is if the skin gets irritated it produces moisture that spreads under the barrier adhesive and causes a even bigger problem.
I use no sting paste myself, three full bead rings around my 2" convex wafer bubble and half of the inner ring actually overlaps the bottom of the stoma when I slap it on. Reason is that's where it leaks the most. After pressing around and down I do get the wafer hole partially blocked, but not all the way that it's constraining output. So this method keeps output off the skin area for as long as possible while the paste bonds better to the skin.
I don't like rings for the fact that after molding them they loose a lot of their adhesive abilities due to finger oils or moisture.
I have a belly fold, so it's imperative I get a good strong bond to the skin as to have the rest of the paste flex along with my wafer bending when I bend.
