I cut the liner out of my one piece

Post by Shamrock4806 »

Apparently the liner holds the circle filter connected to the charcoal filter. About worthless with an illeostomy which is more liquid and clogs the filter. Makes the bag look dirty and it was trapping enzyme rich output against the stoma opening causing irritation.

So I cut the thing out and now keep the bag puffed or tented off the sensitive stoma. Put a sticker over the filter exit. I don't use it.

I feel better, the bag rinses cleaner too.

We will see how it goes. 😊

Might drill a hold through the charcoal so I can insert a tube to flush the bag from the top next. 😂

Yes, but for now I'm just cutting it out to see how things go. If it's good then I'll order them without filters.

I wasn't having any problems with stoma opening irritation as long as my stoma was flush but since I've lost some weight and really pressing hard with a tube for 5 minutes to get the paste to bond well to the skin it's been sticking out quite a bit more. Plus the liner was sticking to the oozed out paste. Now I coat the inside of the bag with petroleum jelly so the oozed out paste doesn't stick for long and just drops off in a day.

I'll gladly take this new 5 day wear cycle with very tiny leaks though. So tiny I don't even need stoma powder.

I might sample the deeper convex too.

Always a adaptive process I guess. 😊
