colon-bladder fistula

Post by rjnx2 »

This may not be a good place to post this topic but the wisdom of this group probably has some insight.
About 2 1/2 years ago I had a cancerous fistula between my lower colon and bladder. Surgery resulted in a colostomy and a partial remaining bladder.
Today I went for a routine cystoscopy and the urologist discovered a staple apparently from the colostomy surgery. He said that he did not use any staples in the bladder surgery. He suspects there is a new fistula.
I don't know what's possible to fix this. I'll consult with the colorectal surgeon next week to see if he has a plan.
I'm wondering if anyone here has had any experience with something similar.
I will appreciate any thoughts or comments.
Regards to all,

A staple stuck to someone's finger and dropped off into the wound before closing?

Strange, sorry I can't be of any more help.

Sorry, but….are you in pain? Can you feel the staple? Can it just be left alone?

Best of outcomes, keep us posted.
