I think I've come across the perfect illeostomy meal(s)
1 packet only of Cream of Wheat with water (creamy) (fortified for nutrition) and just a tab of butter, great for breakfast or late night snack. Slow digestion. Comfort food. Thickens output.
1–2 cups Applesauce total (vitamin C) and thickens output a little. Don't consume too much or it creates diarrhea. ½ cup per serving.
2–4 slices Sourdough bread (can be a little gassy). 1–2 slices per serving.
1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese at a time, can thicken output (not more than 10% total fat) good protein source 25% RDA per serving! ½ cup per serving.
3–5 cups cooked al dente Pasta or overcooked Rice (pasta way better for thickening output) spaced out over many small meals during the day as needed. Provides energy. ½ cup per serving. White rice cooked soft — ½–1 cup per serving. Ideally mixed with a little bit of protein like lean ground beef, turkey or white meat chicken to thicken.
1–2 cups Mashed potatoes (no skins or lumps). Smooth mashed potatoes only, completely lump-free — ½–1 cup per serving.
1 ordinary can size of plain Chicken breast OR equivalent protein (plain turkey or soft beef) mixed with rice or pasta with the sauce. Warning: Too much protein and/or with too much fatty sauce at one meal can cause severe diarrhea. Both from too much protein at once AND too much fat. Lean chicken breast — 3–5 oz per serving. Lean turkey breast — 3–5 oz per serving.
1 Turkey hot dog with a little yellow mustard (good for lunch or snack) on sourdough. protein. 1 at a time per serving.
1–2 servings Greek yogurt per day. Calcium and protein. Plain yogurt if tolerated — ½ cup per serving.
1 yogurt drink or diluted juice serving for potassium/hydration (I use strawberry banana smoothies also) keep under 10% fat.
1–2 cups strained veggie broth/soup as needed (no fat or salt). Strained soups/broths — 1 cup per serving.
Small gravy/sauce portions only for barely flavoring pasta or rice + chicken (lemon ricotta sauce the best) but too much fatty sauce etc. over 10% RDA (total per meal) can cause stoma irritation, failed barrier adhesives, diarrhea etc. Tomato sauce usually has spices, chunks or is very acidic which can irritate. Cheese sauces are usually too fatty per serving. Check the nutrition label and the serving size as they can be deceptively smaller than what people use. Ricotta cheese — ¼–½ cup per serving.
1–2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil total OR 1/4–1/2 soft Avocado if tolerated optional (if some fat needed on zero fat meals) healthy fats.
Small plain roast beef portion, low sodium and very few if any spices, 1 - 2 slices usually, for iron (can cause watery output if too much or not paired with pasta or severe if too salty or spicy)
Watermelon Juice (not whole fruit) for Lycopene or plain tomato sauce (V8) in small quantities. (Tomatoes can be acidic/gassy)
Smooth refried beans — ¼–½ cup per serving only. Gassy and runny.
Tofu — 3–4 oz per serving.
Tapioca pudding 113gms a small cup
Need Vitamin K (one pill), Algae Omega 3 (250-500mg) liquid pill on sourdough bread slice, replaces problematic fish and seafood. Multi vitamins (w/B12 especially) gummy supplements in small spaced out portions with food as needed, perhaps not always daily (may cause severe watery output if too much vitamins and minerals at once like what Centrum Silver and too much magnesium does)

Re: I think I've come across the perfect illeostomy meal
As an added bonus my wafer wear time has increased by days because less bile salt detergents are attacking the barrier adhesive.
Getting sometimes 7+ days now.
Higher fat (not more than 10% RDA per meal) → more bile release
Empty stomach periods → concentrated bile dumping can occur (eat pasta or cream of wheat before long lull periods, like sleeping etc.)
Combining carbs/starches with fats often reduces irritation versus fats alone.

Re: I think I've come across the perfect illeostomy meal
Okay, I've been having some inconsistencies with bile salt stoma irritation and had AI take my menu and adjust so there are no weak spots over the course of 24 hours.
I've learned basically if ones stomach is growling a bile flush is imminent but eating small meals, of bile salt absorbing type foods, more often (about every three hours) seems to work best.
To be combined with my watered down all day ORS.
Breakfast
1 packet Cream of Wheat made with water
Small tab butter for fat and taste
1 slice sourdough bread optional
½ cup applesauce
ORS or diluted smoothie drink
Mid-morning
½ cup pasta (about 20 pieces of Rigatoni or Fusilli)
3 oz lean chicken, turkey or low salt roast beef
½ cup Greek yogurt optional
Lunch
1 turkey hot dog on 1–2 slices sourdough with apx 1000 mg of liquid Algae Omega 3 (provides fat)
Small yellow mustard
½ cup mashed potatoes optional
Small hydration drink optional
Mid-afternoon
½ cup cottage cheese, mixed with pasta
½ cup applesauce OR tapioca pudding cup
1 slice sourdough
Dinner
1 cup pasta (40 pieces) OR 1 cup soft rice
3 oz lean chicken/turkey/tofu/roast beef
1–2 tbsp light ricotta lemon sauce OR tiny gravy amount
Evening stabilizer
½ cup mashed potatoes OR ½ cup pasta (20 pieces)
Small protein portion if hungry
Before bed (important) Choose ONE:
1 packet Cream of Wheat with butter tab
½ cup pasta.(20 pieces)
Less effective: optional
Tapioca pudding cup
1–2 slices sourdough toast
½ cup mashed potatoes
Daily limits/targets
Olive oil: 1–2 tbsp total daily if used
Avocado: max ¼–½ if used
Applesauce: ~1–2 cups total daily
1 1000mg Algae Omega 3 liquid pill daily with low fat meal
1 prenatal vitamin gummie pill in the morning and evening with food containing 5-10% RDA fat for best absorbtion
Greek yogurt: 1–2 servings
Protein: keep moderate and spread out, mixed with pasta or runny output occurs
Avoid large fat loads (over 10% RDA) in single meals spaced out every four hours
Keep starches present throughout day (pasta mainly)
Highest priority anti-irritation foods in your menu:
Pasta
Cream of Wheat
Less thickening effect:
Mashed potatoes
Sourdough
Tapioca pudding
Most important rule: Avoid long empty periods, especially before sleep.

Re: I think I've come across the perfect illeostomy meal(s)
So my shopping list is now very simple.
One loaf of freshly sliced sourdough bread, Italian bread okay too.
A 1/2 pound of freshly sliced sandwich size low salt, low spices lean roast beef
Regular salted butter
Banana strawberry fruit smoothie bottle
Cream of wheat instant plain
Applesauce single use containers without added sugar
Tapioca pudding single use containers
Pasta, usually Penne Rigatoni or Fusilli
Low fat ricotta lemon herb pasta sauce
White meat turkey hot dogs
Mustard yellow
Greek yogurt cups with fruit at the bottom
Low fat, low salt cottage cheese
Small cans of reduced sodium V8 juice
Algae Omega 3 1000mg liquid gels (provides some fat)
Vitamin K
Prenatal vitamins gummies
Potassium/Magnesium gummies (careful with magnesium causes a runny bag if too much)
Keep fat 5-10% of RDA per meal spaced out every four hours 24/7.
I've ditched the canned chicken since I had a bout of extreme diarrhea from chunks of chicken fat and I can't stand to even look at the stuff anymore.
Roast beef has been good, I can take as much as I need so I don't overdo the protein (causing a watery bag) and even if I did it doesn't react as bad and it's a good source of iron, easily absorbed.
For my ORS
A bottle of red regular cranberry juice
Optional: A bottle of regular white grape juice
Sugar
Salt
Lite Salt
This is my small diet giving me little choices, but excellent stability, mental clarity and energy. Plus it's very nutritional and extremely convenient. All I do is cook up a batch of pasta almost everyday with a 64 oz of my dilluted ORS. Mix a protein with a carb (pasta) and microwave and down it goes.
