order of topics

Post by robin from nj »

I really do not like the fact that the order of topics changes each time someone posts a reply to a topic. I would much prefer that the topics remain in posted order (newest first). Would it be possible to give us an option on how to sort the order of topics?

threads?

So do you mean newest threads first? Regardless if a new post is made on a thread? I think that makes a lot of sense, like our old boards, plus, some icon already appears to let you know that a new post was made on a thread. However, the only reason I find the current way useful is if an old, old thread is posted upon, so it kind of puts the "hot" topic to the forefront. That can be helpful. But yeah, perhaps if we could have two options: sort by threads and sort by newest post. That does not sounds to hard to implement. I am still looking for some sort of layered system where you can tell which post is replying which post!

Gee, I didn't even realize it did that

I click on the show new posts option when I check the site to see what is new.

We all have two options. Just look at below the last posting and you can read from the oldest first or newest. Also can opick a period of days to look at. Steve

Steve,
I tried reading the posts from newest to oldest but I have to click that option each time and for every thread. Not a very convenient feature.

I think once the board gets expanded to offer different forums it will be a little easier. It will happen but will take some time. This new format is certainly different and gets a lot of use. I use another site that uses this format and it has different topics which is easier. Steve
