Fundraising opportunities for UOAA

Post by JennieLind »

Hey guys,

I was wondering, I noticed that there's like walk-athon ( I think it was called guts and glory or something like) type fundraising events for supporting IBD. Is there ever anything like that just for the UOAA? Cause I noticed not all ostomates have or had IBD.

Just wondering.
Thanks,
Jen

Currently, there is the GYGIG ride. There are not any walks that I am aware of, but one can be organized within your area. I am sure that it is something that could be arranged and done. Just need the people willing to get it together.

Umm, sorry I'm so clueless, but where can I find out what the GYGIG ride is?

Thanks,
Jen :?

GYGIG is "get your guts in gear" it was founded by a crohns sufferer. This ride is 210 miles in 3 days bikeride. The funds raised are distributed to different organizations, the UOAA being one of them. There is info on it on the main webpage of this site.
It is another thing that is done for crohns and UC, but the people are great advocates for ALL ostomates, no matter the underlying cause.
