For those whose ostomy resulted from cancer

People Living with Cancer http://www.plwc.org is the cancer information website from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). It's a web-based support group with monthly chats that allow you to ask questions in advance, get suggested reading titles, and then take part in a chat with a Clinical Oncologist about the topic of the month. (For example - the chat on 24 Feb 06 will focus on Prostate Cancer).

There is lots of other useful information on the site as well. Not all will pertain to ostomy, of course, but it may be very helpful to you in improving your quality of life as far as your diagnosis and other treatment is concerned.

A comprehensive section on each of several cancer types that can lead to ostomy can be found starting at http://www.cancer.net/patient/Cancer+Types, for colorectal, anal, bladder, cervical, ovarian, prostate and uterine.
