i need to flush my indiana pouch

Post by rikki »

could anyone tell me their homemade solution for flushing out an indiana pouch. i haven't done it in years but am starting to get a lot of mucus and if i remember correctly the sterile solution was kind of expensive. I haven't flushed my pouch since my first year with it and now i'm in my seventh year. do ya'll flush very often?

To make your own saline just boil salt and water together for a few minutes, let stand to cool and store in a very clean container. Ideally the container has been either boiled or run through the dishwasher. The ratio is 1/2 teaspoon salt to a cup of water. My pouch is over 15 years old and I never irrigate it, just don't have the need to do it.

thanks for the info. i'ts nice to know you've gone that long with out having to bother with the flushing. also good to hear of someone having a pouch that long. i'm 47 now and hope my pouch can last at least another 20 years with no major problems

i hear that sqiud. much better than the alternative. doctors said i wouldn't be alive this long and i just love to disprove them. i've spent a lifetime making liars out of most of them.

hey blueslover, i got a chance to eric clapton a few years ago. it was when he was touring the album where he was doing covers of his favorite blues. it was a great concert. have you seen his crossroads dvd. it is fantastic. muddy waters is one of my favorites along with buddy guy. i would like to get some of the old robert jordan stuff but don't know where to start.
i'm just getting over a kidney infection that has lengered for over a month and music is starting to sound good again. thanks
