colostomy and thinking about alternative

Post by k9fan »

Hi!

I am a 29 year old rectal cancer survivor and have a permanent colostomy. I wanted to know if there are alternatives to this? Is the koch pouch an option?

I really think you need to check with a surgeon to see what your options might be.

I agree 100% with what Lynne said. I think you should talk with a colorectal surgeon to find out your options.

Have you thought of irrigating.....just a thought. It might drastically improve your lifestyle, especially at your young age.
