Punctured Bowel

Has anyone ever puncture their bowel while irrigating. Asked Dr. about irrigating my stoma and, he mentioned the risk of puncturing your bowel in the process. Why do you have to irrigate at the same time every day? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I don't know,i assume you would get pain before you puncture througth a mucosa.
