my pain in my left kidney area has been going on since 1998 and finally in the last couple of years it has moved to the middle of my back also. what i am finding out is that i have been favoring the left side so long it finally caused some problems with my spine. i'm going to a chiropractor and that seems to be helping the pain in the middle of my back. of course the left kidney pain which i call "my old friend" is still with me. doctors can be frustrating on this sometimes, with the opinion that i'm lucky to be as healthy as i am. that may be so but the pain is still wearing me down. lots of luck to you guys.

For years I had a lot of lower back problems and pain (and still do at times) due to my abdominal muscles being so weak from surgeries. I went to physical therapy and it fixed it, course I should have kept doing the exercises to maintain. Perhaps that's a factor for your pain as well.
