I knew that Bob could come on and explain things much better than I did. I am not that 'techy' . I know Bob is working hard to get all these outages resolved and such. Again, please be patient.

I don't know where Bob lives but the address for Joan where you order your yearly Colander is in Fairview, Tennessee and I live just a few miles from there. I go through there all the time.

Sorry, I miswrote. I did not create a new (or multiple) IDs. When I had problems with signing in I just reentered my ID as it had been. I was just surprised that I had not been recognized and had to do that.

To texasgal and marie_eve,
As it happens, I live in Oklahoma - same timezone as Joan, but different state (UOAA's personnel are spread all over the country). Anyway, I'm sorry, but I'm not available to help people upgrade their computers!
To EBGel,
I'm glad you didn't actually re-register. It sounds like you were using the board's auto-login feature, i.e., the "Log me on automatically each visit" option, but your auto-login session got disrupted for some reason. I posted about this feature a long time ago at
http://www.uoaa.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4122 - As noted there, using the board's "Logout" button will terminate an auto-login session. Other things that will disrupt an auto-login session include deleting your browser cookies, or going longer than 30 days without accessing the board (I doubt that any of our addicted board users would do
that!). Certain events on the board might also disrupt an auto-login session. For example, as noted in my
Problems logging in to new board post, auto-login sessions weren't preserved when we upgraded the board software from phpBB2 to phpBB3. I pointed out earlier in this thread that our recent server upgrade was prompted mainly by frequent errors due to exceeding memory limits. If you got hit by one of those errors, you might have seen an "Internal Server Error" message, and if so, it might have disrupted your auto-login session.
