Hi everyone!

How are you all doing? I hope everyone is filled with health and love
I wanted to let you know that I contacted the FOW non profit organization, thanks to "To Dream a Dream," who gave the contact information.
They kindly responded me and sent my father several bags, barriers, and other accessories. I am so grateful!

Update: My father is somehow adjusting, still has problems retaining the barrier for more than 2 days
He is also still having the urge to use the restroom, and actually does has poop accidents through his anus. The doctor said it is normal, but does not say for how long. Any insights?

So good to read your update on your father. It is a difficult situation for you both & I keep you in prayer. Am so glad that you are in contact with FOW. Not just for supplies, but for information. They may know of ostomy doctors or nurses closer to your area that you may contact for more local support.

From your explanation, this sounds like a mucous plug. With a residual anus/rectum, there can be a build up of mucous that eventually forms into a "plug" that will look and feel like normal output. As he heals, and the rectum/anus is used less, hopefully the formation of these plugs will decrease in frequency, but he will likely continue with this as long as he has his ostomy.

Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving.
I wanted to share with you that my father passed last Monday.
He was home with his love ones. Unfortunately, I did not have time to make it there,
but I will be joining my family in Venezuela next weekend.

Although it is sad to lose someone during this pre-holiday season, it is also a time to reflect upon the great freedom from pain & the glory we have been promised that will follow.
