Just from doing research, I've found that half of continent diversions are for BCIR, and the other half have stuck with the Koch pouch surgery.
Do either of these surgeries have more problems? I've heard from a people that Koch pouches have more problems because they don't have that collar.
I guess they are almost the same, but I wonder why all the surgeons wouldn't switch to BCIR if that collar was necessary? They obviously found a way to keep the valve from slipping without doing the collar.
Such a hard decision.
