:D

Hi to all,

I have a question- 7 days ago i had this urinary diversion done, Appendicovesicostomy.

The last 2 days i went from spotting from the stoma site to large amount tan-red drainage out of red robinson catheter that is placed through the stoma. currently the red robinson catheter is knotted and i am not allowed to cath until 2 weeks post-op.

Is this normal following this type of urinary diversion placement at 1 week following placement?

Is this normal. kind of worried has per usual medical provider has done a poor job with education, funny it seems to be the norm!!!!

Let me know if anybody knows anything

thanks to all------

Sally

Sally, your diversion is still very, very new and it is not unusual to have drainage. It may be that you are moving more, you could have pulled on the tube and not realized it, etc, etc. I do think you should call the surgeon just to let them know and see if they say it is ok. Has it stopped by now? Stoma's bleed very easily. It usually will stop fairly quickly and if it does not then always call your doctor. Judith
