It's a serious subject, but the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (the docs who do colonoscopies) has set up a light-hearted way for you to remind someone close to you that it's time to get screened. Go to http://www.screen4coloncancer.org/polypform.asp# to send the 50th birthday card that urges people not to let Peter or Polly Polyp crash their party.

Of course, not just 50-year-olds should do the screening ... someone with a family history of IBD or CRC should think about it when they are 40, and someone with symptoms really NEEDS to be seen.
