Horrible back pain

I am 9 weeks after the surgery. Had a radical hysterectomy and continent urinary diversion. Don't know what happened but about 10 days ago started having a horrible pain in my low back, bone tail, bottoms. I don't think that I had so much pain even after the surgery. Also it feels like there is a pain inside of my anus. I had a terrible constipation before, really very bad, so now am having hemorroids. I can feel them outside, so can just imagine what's going on inside.
Everybody says about the pain after the surgery. But what kind of pain do you guys have? Is my pain something extraordinary? I was hoping that with every day after the surgery it will feel better but this terrible pain makes me doubt. Some people say that it's the process of healing, and the nurves that were numb are now coming back to life. Is that true? For how long will that last? What do you do for your pain? Please, help!!!!!!!

I think you should call your doctor about this new pain. If you are still constipated then this can be part of it. Let us know what the doctor says, okay? Judith

Hi :D

I had a radical hysterectomy 18 years ago for cervical cancer and developed nerve damage in the pelvic wall,
which has affected my bladder and bowel function, and i also have adhesions ( scar tissue)
that affects bladder and bowel function has well. My pelvic wall pain took about 6 months to totally resolve. Now I am mostly pain free. HOWEVER, the nerve damage to my bladder and bowel started right after the surgery and over the last 18 years got worse. :(

I have chronic constipation and live on miralox to keep it moving, and I too battle hemmorrids.
The back pain needs to be checked by a Dr to be sure you are not having a kidney infection. :(

Let me know if I can help. I have had the same surgery and I know how hard it is and your body needs a lot of time to
heal something the doctors will NEVER tell you. Bladder and bowel function can be very affected.
Sometimes the bladder and bowel DO IMPROVE with time, we are all different.

Feel free to pm me if it helps.

My thoughts and best wishes are with you, and I wish you luck!!!

You are not alone............Sal

I had an appointment with my doctor yesterday. He thinks that the pain is because I became more active, and more muscles are being involved. Since the pain is located on both side of the spinal cord, and especially bad in my tail bone ( not just somewhere in one locations), so it's not related to cancer.
CAT scan is too early because everything is still a mess inside, everything is swelling, and no radiologist will be able to read it after all those reconstructions.

So, I will just take more iboprophen now ( 800 mg a day), and will be looking forward to the time when the pain will go away.

Looks like nobody had the back pain after the surgery here...... Lucky people.....

Thanks a lot for your replies. It's good to know that you are not alone.
