Hello everyone,
Have been wondering lately, since it has happened to me many times from the time of my first surgery and my colon was removed, if any of you have had dreams about your missing body part? I have had dreams about going to the bathroom in the old way; even to the point of thinking I better call the surgeon when I wake b/c I know that this couldn't have happened!
I know about phantom limb pain. I am thinking this is a modification of the same condition though I have not heard people talk about it. If this has happened to others, I would love to hear. I know that I am not unique but want to know if this does occur with others. Some days I just can't believe that I don't have a colon! After 3 years I still yearn for a good colon system which (btw) I hadn't had in years b/c of ulcerative colitis.
Thanks for your replies and support, Dahlia

sure..I've had them, too. It's just old memories stored in the brain. When my pouch is full and I'm too asleep to get up and empty, in my dream I have to find a toilet to go to the bathroom - but the old way, not with my cath. I would think those missing limbs still dream doing stuff as well.

You know you have a problem if you start to empty your pouch in the nightstand.
