Possibly as a result of the BCAN Seminar in May (see http://www.ostomy.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16919 ) an ongoing support group for those with bladder cancer will begin to meet in the Triangle Area of North Caroline in mid-September. Please note that this group is not replacing or in competition with the vibrant and helpful Triangle Ostomy Association (see http://www.raleighuoa.org/ )

North Carolina Triangle Area Bladder Cancer Support Group

We are proud to announce that a new support group to educate and support bladder cancer patients and families is starting in the Triangle Area in North Carolina.

The inaugural meeting of the Triangle Bladder Cancer Support Group will take place September 14 at Carolina Pointe. The agenda for the initial meetings will include time to meet as a support group, as well as time to get input on future meeting topics and formats. Suggestions from interested individuals are welcomed and actively encouraged as this important new program is created.

After a few initial meetings acting as both a support group and a planning group, the group expects to hold monthly support meetings from 7:00 - 8:30 PM on the second Tuesday of each month. The mission of the group is “to provide support, education, and outreach for those touched by bladder cancer: survivors, caregivers, friends and all that are affected." The group is open to anyone who has been touched by a bladder cancer diagnosis.
