DGR, while there are many things to worry about in any proceedure, you will not experience the good or bad results without moving forward. While I had nothing but problems with blockages when I had the Brooke Ileostomy for 20 years. I don't have the K pouch but the simular one called the BCIR. I have had it now for over 13 years and not one blockage and no valve slippage. We have seen problems in the past with valve problems, maybe they have learned how to construct them better now.
While I have a good track record with my internal pouch, one cannot say you or anybody else will have the same results. I am just very thankful that it has worked out good for me, because them blockages years ago were just about to push me over the edge, and if you ever experienced a bad blockage you can understand. I say go for it.........life is uncertian at best.

I had an end ileo and then kpouch. Blockages can occur with any ostomy, no more no less. Regarding the valve, it can slip making interbation difficult and/or incontenance. But, it's worth the risk to me as I am severely allergic to all adhesives and my appliance just was miserable on my skin.

Just do all the research. Finding an experience surgeon is what will be difficult. Not sure where you live as you may have to travel. Its worth a consult to see if you are a candidate. You already have an ileo so there would be no rush in your decision making.

Good luck.
