Parastomal hernia

I have had a Kock Pouch for 30 years with a valve prolaspe from the beginning but have lived successully with it until about 2 years ago when I developed a parastomal hernia. I had my first repair almost 4 months ago leaving the kock pouch in the same location but the hernia has recurred. Now my surgeon who I adore and trust for the past 30 years will be moving the kock pouch to the other side and try to revise my valve at the same time to repair the prolapse. There is a small risk of the pouch unraveling and that I will end up with a standard ileostonmy (bag) and of course the lesser risk of a hernia at the new site or continued vlave slippage. Has anyone experienced a similar issue and does anyone have suggestions for a second opinion. I live in New York but willing to travel anywhere.

I was just diagnosed with this today and it isn't severe enough to need immediate repair. However, since I have had a successful Kock pouch for 26 years, I have started looking for surgeons in the Midwest where I live. This website had a forum that covered this in detail with listing f doctors from all over the country. I can give you more detail about my experience if you want to continue in this forum.
