My father had a cystectomy with a ilael conduit for a T1 TCC 2 years back

For the.last 4 months he gets attacks of hematuria .Initaily the cultue was positive for which he received antibiotics .He was put on nitrofurantoin and though now there is no infection he stilk has hematuria once a month .The urine cytology is negative and the MRI with contrast does not reveal any signs of malignancy
What can be the cause for this hematuria ? Ileal stomal inflammation ?

There can be many reasons- does it occur ion days when he changes his pouch? If so the stoma has many blood vessels close to the surface- these can bleed very easily if bumped or bruised during a pouch change. Does he have a history of kidney stones? Certain foods can actually change the color of urine red, are you positive it is blood? As long as his cultures are negative and the bleeding is not prolonged, I would not really worry too much about it. Just keep an eye on it and if other symptoms occur consult the doctor.
