I have been irrigating for about 6-8 weeks now. Loving it. Lots of gas in the afternoon/evening but who cares. I was gasy pre colostomy. Now I control where I pass gas. Going on my first plane trip next week. A little nervous. Have to be at the airport at 0430. Either I have to try irrigation the night before, get up super early , or wait until I'm at my destination. Any suggestion? I just don't want to get off schedule. Have a big race Saturday. Otherwise, how has everyone been

Re: Checking in
I would suggest irrigation the night before travel. It should work well and allow you to get sleep the following morning. Generally when one excercises it tends to supress peristalsis which I presume is a result of blood flow to the extremity muscles.

hi Sue - or you might want to first try seeing if you can last 36 hours, and irrigate a following evening. I often do that because of varying life and work schedules (and I don't want to get up at 5am sometimes), and I usually get no output from extending 12 hours. But when I do get a little output, its no big deal and its only small amounts and toward the end of the day - totally manageable. And I often use immodium to get me through the day if I'm extending 12 hours and I want to insure no output.

Re: Checking in
Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll try the night before then get on schedule Friday morning. I'll wear a normal bog overnight Thursday in case there is more than expected output as I'll be exceeding the 24 hour mark. Haven't done that yet. That way I'm on schedule for race day Saturday.
