Irrigation time of day

Post by riosj »

I have recently started to irrigate and due to my work schedule I'm thinking irrigation will work best in the evening. Any Pros/Cons of morning vs. evening irrigating? Also, in the short time that I have irrigated (3) times, I have lasted approx. 72 hours before my next session. Many of the posts I have read others only get 48 hours...is this due to personal preference?
Thanks, Juan

I irrigate at night because I used to do enemas at night and my system was used to the timing. I would expect that your body would get used to a new time of day fairly quickly.
I get 24 hours or up to 30 before it starts to go on its own. Everybody's different.

I think there's really a large number of things that affect the time you get between irrigations. I originally irrigated at night and could only make it 12 hours before output started. I did that for 2 months and was getting ready to quit when a member suggested I irrigate in the morning instead. I have been doing that now for 4 months and I usually *knock on wood* make it 24 hrs. I wish I could make it 48 hrs but I lost 15" of colon which I think plays hugely into the equation. Otherwise, I'm really happy with the 24hrs.

I've been cutting out carbs the last few months, and now I can usually go 48 hours between irrigations. That makes overnight trips a lot easier.
But I wear a standard pouch the second day, just in case.
