many of you may know i had a hysterectomy done in 2013 after my ostomy took everything but the ovaries, well i got news last week that i had a mass on my right one that was 7x7x7 cm it basically is the size of a baseball. well my GYN called me after the ultrasound actually about 2 hours after it as he already had the results and their is not 1 but 2 solid masses the other one is 1x1x1 cm. i am having them both removed on dec 21st, and am very scared as ovarian and breast cancer runs in my family. he is moving pretty quickly and has already told me he will most likely take both. but depends on what he finds when he goes in. he also told me he was going to try to do it laparoscopically but wasn't sure he would be able to since i have had so many abdominal surgeries. i am just very scared at what he is going to find as the more i am reading online points so cancer. especially given some of the symptoms i have with the increased nausea, diaherra bloating and low appetite.

all went well and i came home thursday afternoon, he took the right ovary out as it was filled with cysts, there was a massive fluid filled one where my uterus was and was the size of a small soccer ball. and he also took an endometria off of the left ovary. and in order to be able to do that he cut thru tons of adhesions and scar tissue. glad it's over with he sent all off for pathology and i should have results in the next week or so. he said my case was one of the worst ones he has seen in quite a while. he originally planned on about 30 minutes to an hour and i was in there over 2 1/2 hours. he was able to do everything robotically so hopefully a shorter recovery. in quite a bit of pain but other than that i'm dealing with it ok.

Hi smashms,
So glad to hear your surgery went well and all is benign. I haven't checked this forum until now. It sounds like you really had a scare. Now there is just recovery, hopefully it will be a speedy one for you. Good luck, and go easy on yourself for a while. Hope your holiday was as happy as could be.
