Testing for reversal

Post by kcdw0521 »

My dad had colostomy Dec 17 with reversal talked about in March.
At doctor he says need colonoscopy first so that does don’t seem unusual.
Colonoscopy was past Tues but only prep was oral. Dr said there was still stool and needed to do enema
And come back in two weeks for another one.

Does any of this sound normal?

Hello. I was just tested for reversal with a colonoscopy. I believe it is the normal procedure. I was hoping for reversal in the next few months but not sure now with all the negative comments. I had a double bowel perforation back in January. They repaired my duodenum and removed my sigmoid colon. Still no answers as to why or how it happened.

I had a barium enema yesterday just to check the length of my rectum and having a colonoscopy tomorrow.

Doctor originally told me 3-4 months for reversal after my colostomy. This was not even close to being realistic and I'm looking at least a year to heal.
