A brief history, I had a colon resection as a result of diverticulitis and perforations, I developed a leak at the connection (anastomatis) between the retum and the large intestine about a week after, that lead to sepsis and a Hartmann's procedure and resulting colostomy. Had reversal surgery 7 months later on 28 Sept they did take down the colostomy but I ended up with an Ileostomy because the surgery was so involved they thought the colon needed more rest so the connection would heal properly
Today they did a Gastrografic enema, as a result of that they found leaks. This is really disappointing news. Has anyone that has been through this want to comment. I have question:
Did the leak go way at a later date, if so how? Time, surgery, drugs, etc
What was the end result?
Anastomosis leaks
