I am 8 months in with my urostomy and have had some skin trouble that seemed like MARSI or a reaction to adhesive. A dermatologist performed a patch test and found none of the pouch adhesives or products caused an allergic reaction, but recommended I use CerVe products when I showered in case other soap/shampoo additives got trapped under the seal.
This has helped a lot- with a rare use of a steroid spray on an angry spot.
In retrospect, I believe one factor in irritating my skin was swimming in a natural lake and letting myself dry naturally. Similarly, playing vigorous tennis both caused sweat & motion to add irritation. So I have tried to shower & change pouches after every swim/tennis match.
In the summer- this would mean a lot of pouch changes-- which might cause it's own extra irritation !
Does a two piece work better when changing after swimming ? I am currently using Hollister products.
Has anyone dealt with this...any advice ?

Re: urostomy with sweating & swimming
In situations where I can't dry the bag off, I put some folded out TP between the back and myself to help absorb the moisture, then discard it. For me this helps.
I also keep my bag inside my underwear so that it doesn't move around that much and cause irritation. Sometimes I put powder under the bag if its going to be particularly hot and humid, and I'm going to sweat a lot.
I have an ileostomy, but I would think it would be similar to a urostomy for this case.
Hope this helps.
