Another well-designed treasure trove of articles containing the latest & most interesting info regarding ostomies. Included in this issue is a question & answer column by the Colon & Rectal surgeon, Dr. David E. Beck. Researching My Options by Bill Van Clief that explains how to use online resources to find surgical options. And a diverse assortment of UOAA news (including that of the upcoming 2019 National Conference), health tips, skin care concerns & first person stories.

I was happy to read Rolf Benirschke's personal contribution, The Most Grateful Patient, having followed his career of inspiration & advocacy for anyone with IBD or ostomy experience. He invites all who would like to share their own journey to visit his website at www.gratefulostomate.org.

The Phoenix is always excellent. If you do not get it....Get it. As well as being a great information source for the Ostomy community it is also a source of revenue for UOAA and helps with advocacy like keeping this discussion Board and website up and running.

The Phoenix is a valuable publication for new and seasons ostomates.

I continue to subscribe and always will. The magazine is an excellent resource to stay abreast of new product offerings. Given that this ileostomy is a part of me, I want ongoing access to ostomy products that are innovative and comfortable.

This issue has a great personal narrative for Diane C to read (Diance C enjoys swing-dancing). The magazine profiles a woman who returns to competitive ball room dancing after a cancer diagnosis and ostomy surgery.

This issue also has informative articles on skin irritation from wafer usage (contact dermatitis) and offers tips and remedies. Another article focuses on bowel obstructions. The “Ask an Ostomy Nurse” question and answer columns are relevant and informative to real-life every day issues that we commonly face.

The Phoenix always offers something to learn. A subscription is money well invested.

Agree! My latest copy is waiting for me to open it. A great resource. I'll be sure to note the article re dancing. That really lifts one's mood.... need to find my tap shoes... hmmmm.
