MRI shows no active CD, but I have a small peristomal hernia. I suspected as much, and since it's not affecting my wear time or lifestyle, I don't really want them to try and do something about it. I've likely had it at least a year.

Besides not sneezing, coughing, or vomiting, I suppose I need to careful lifting...

Any advice on precautions? I obviously don't want this to get worse.

If you are going to lift stuff wear a stoma belt or something that holds your hernia in,I have a huge hernia also and i wish i had started wearing the belt long before i did.. Seems these hernias kinda come along with the stoma's, like we don't deal with enough already,lol

Don't try sawing wood with a hand saw. I think my hernia developed after sawing up an old couch frame so it would fit in the trash. I suppose something else would have contributed eventually.

i have teh coloplast ostomy belt I got to use to prevent any more hernias before they did wound vac last week. I have had 10# or less lifting since my massive hernia repair in mid December (this was in same place as strangulated hernia 8 days after small bowel surgery 8/23/17). I wore a much larger binder post hernia surgery until they did the ileostomy surgery. I stopped wearing it as it was too much with new ostomy, draining wound w/multiple dressing that it was a "production" just to go to bathroom. I will go back to it though once more active and wound has healed. My days of lifting 5 gallon buckets of salt water or RO water for salt water tanks are over. Anything over 10# is over per my husband and I don't argue after the last 5 months either.
