In the next year, I'd really like to buy an adjustable bed that keeeps my torso raised as I sleep for various reasons -- some you can imagine as I now have an ileostomy. I also have acid reflux and oddly, since getting my ileostomy and NOT eating much at night, it seems worse. I use many pillows but they keep sliding around. I recall that Karen/Button, whom I'm missing, discussed them. I don't know if this subject is of interest to others, but I found a fabulous website and wanted to share it: https://bedroom.solutions

Re: Adjustable Beds
If you have reflux, did you ever try sleeping on your left side? The entry point of the esophagus into the stomach is toward the right. If you lay on your left side there will be less stuff coming up. Old trick. Helps.
Re: Adjustable Beds
My father had GERD and put 3 inch high wooden blocks under the legs at the head of his bed. Raising the head of his bed significantly reduced reflux and he did not have to be concerned about pillow placement.
Re: Adjustable Beds
Hi to both Bills,
I normally do sleep on my left side -- or at least start that way. It does help -- guess I'm used to the fetal position. I'm not a handy type and actually have someone coming in to help me tomorrow with various things. Maybe we'll get to the bed. I switched from w/w carpeting a while back and my bed keeps sliding around. I did buy these rubberized felt pads for the feet. But I'd still love a new bed. The URL above gives me specifics to think about. NOT spending the $ for the one best for reflux though.
Many thanks!

Re: Adjustable Beds
Have you looked into a bed wedge? It's much easier than raising the bed from underneath and less expensive than a whole new bed. Avana Mattress elevator or just a simple, regular wedge might work. If the wedge slides around you could put a piece of Dycem or Gorilla Grip shelf liner under it to stop it.Just a thought.
Re: Adjustable Beds
Thanks, jsti. I will definitely look into this. Good idea. Yep, the above beds that would help me are costly. Many thanks! Just beginnng this exploration...
