Koch pouch covering
I am new to this site but I need help immediately. I have had a Koch pouch for 15 yrs. I have always used Stay Free ultra thin mini pads to cover my stoma, because there were not perfumes, deorodants, etc. in them. Now they have added an "odor neurtrilizer" and evidently I am allergic to this additive. I would like to know what others use to cover/absorb mucus on their stomas. I do not like to use the commerical products that are like "bandaids" because I don't want to have adhesive on my skin all the time. I use those for swimming and intimate moments, but are not appropriate for everyday use. I hope someone can help me. I have had a rash around my stoma for 2 months and nothing seems to be working to clear it up.
I'm not sure if this will work for you, but you can give it a try.
I've had my k pouch for 26 years and had rashes from panty liners and such too. I used nursing pads,(I think that's what they're called) the kind mom's tuck in their bra between nursings. Some have like a waterproof covering for leaks and they are really absorbent. There's also no purfumes or dyes used in them either.
Hope this may help.

stoma covers
I am wearing nursing pads....I have found that Curity is the most economical where I live.
If your insurance covers your supplies you may want to try the AmPatch covers. They are an adhesive cover with a hole for the stoma.
I prefer no adhesive if the cover works.
